Overview
The WSET Level 1 Award in Spirits is a beginner‑level introduction designed for those starting a career in the drinks industry or developing a personal interest in spirits. This qualification provides a hands‑on, practical exploration of the world of spirits, with guided tastings throughout the day.

Course Requirements
This qualification offers an accessible introduction to the main styles and types of spirits. Students will learn through sight, smell, and taste to understand the key factors that influence flavour and aroma.
Upon successful completion, learners receive:

This course provides a detailed exploration of the world of spirits and liqueurs, supported by extensive guided tastings.

Course Requirements
This qualification offers comprehensive training for learners wishing to build their expertise in spirits and liqueurs. Across two days of guided learning, you will explore:

Key production methods

The characteristics of the main spirit categories

Influential brands and styles

How spirits are used in cocktails and mixed drinks
Upon successful completion, you will receive:

A WSET certificate

A WSET lapel pin
-
Permission to use the WSET-certified logo
You do not need to complete Level 1 before enrolling, although a basic understanding of spirits is helpful.
Due to WSET exam booking requirements, this course must be booked at least 10 working days before the start date.
